Description
The former and first championship belt holder of the Kinksports Underground Mixed Wrestling Club, Laura (5’4″, 122 pounds) enters the tournament with one goal in mind: Take back the Belt from Sofia. In a recent match against the current champion Sofia, Laura fell short to the power and speed of the Belt Holder. Now that her feet are wet, she intends to get a rematch in the finals of the tournament and defeat Sofia once and for all.
However, standing in her way is the newcomer Gary (5’10”, 190 pounds) who is the strongest fighter the club has ever seen. However, Gary has no wrestling or fighting experience. This will be a fight between the experience of Laura and the raw power and size of Gary.
What is Cutthroat 2026? The winner walks away not only with the tournament championship, but also the KinkSports Underground Mixed Wrestling Club Championship Belt which is currently possessed by #1 ranked Sofia.
The winner will face the winner of the Carolina and David match in the second round.
Match 7 Preview: #16 Laura vs. Gary
First Round — Match #7: #16 Laura vs. Gary
Match #7 of the Cutthroat 2026 Mixed Wrestling Tournament presents one of the oldest questions in combat sports:
How much can experience compensate for a massive physical disadvantage?
On one side is Laura, the #16-ranked veteran and a former holder of the club's championship belt. Laura has fought 14 recorded matches, compiled an outstanding 12–2 record, and possesses the kind of wrestling experience that can only be developed through years of competition.
Across from her is almost the complete opposite.
Gary has never competed in an official club match.
He's 0–0 and unranked. He has none of Laura's competitive wrestling experience and will be making his debut on one of the biggest stages possible.
But Gary brings something Laura's experience cannot erase:
He's enormous, exceptionally athletic, and quite possibly the strongest fighter in the club.
At 5'10" and 190 pounds, Gary outweighs Laura by 68 pounds. His 9/10 upper-body strength is elite, and unlike some larger power-based fighters, Gary also possesses a very respectable 7 quickness and 7 stamina.
Laura has probably never faced a rookie quite like this.
Tale of the Tape

| Weight | 122 lbs | 190 lbs |
| Age | 24 | 27 |

| Pain Tolerance | 8 | 5 |
| Psychological Warfare | 7 | 3 |
| Signature Move | Reverse Headscissors | Crucifix Pin |
| Preferred Pace | Moderate | Moderate |
The matchup becomes fascinating once we move beyond size.
Gary is dramatically stronger.
But Laura leads him in flexibility, leg squeeze power, balance, core strength, Wrestling IQ, aggression, pain tolerance and psychological warfare.
Gary has the better body for overpowering an opponent.
Laura has the better skill set for wrestling one.
Gary's Advantage: Possibly the Strongest Upper Body in the Club
There's no point minimizing what Laura is facing.
Gary's strength advantage is enormous.
His 9 upper-body strength compared with Laura's 5 may be the single most important statistical disparity in the fight.
And this isn't simply a big, slow man.
Gary comes from soccer and CrossFit, giving him a rare combination of size, strength and athletic ability. His 7 quickness is identical to Laura's despite carrying nearly 70 additional pounds.
That's potentially frightening for Laura.
Against many larger opponents, a smaller wrestler can compensate by staying mobile and forcing the big fighter to chase.
Gary may actually be able to chase her.
Gary's path to victory
Gary should keep his strategy uncomplicated.
He doesn't need to prove he's the better technical wrestler.
He isn't.
He needs to use his athleticism to close distance, establish physical control and then make Laura deal with his 190-pound frame.
Once Gary gets his arms securely around her, Laura cannot afford to engage in a prolonged upper-body battle.
His signature Crucifix Pin could be particularly dangerous. Gary has enough strength to control Laura's upper body while using his considerable weight to make an escape extraordinarily difficult.
Laura's 122-pound frame simply isn't built to push 190 pounds away using brute force.
Gary should therefore resist the temptation to get fancy.
His greatest weapon isn't complicated.
It's Gary.
But Gary Has Never Done This Before
And that's the reason this isn't simply a mismatch.
Gary has never wrestled an official club match.
Laura is 12–2.
That is an extraordinary experience gap.
Laura has experienced winning positions, losing positions, fatigue, frustration, submissions, escapes and momentum swings.
She has been champion.
Gary has experienced none of that in competition.
There is a difference between being extraordinarily athletic and knowing how to apply athleticism when another trained wrestler is constantly creating problems.
Gary's 9 strength may get him out of situations that technique cannot.
But against Laura, he may have to solve problem after problem after problem.
And eventually, raw strength can become expensive.
Laura's Greatest Weapon Isn't Her Experience—It's Her Legs
Experience gives Laura the roadmap.
Her legs give her the weapon.
Laura owns an 8/10 leg squeeze rating, compared with Gary's 6.
Her signature move is the Reverse Headscissors, and her database specifically describes her signature attribute as:
"Attacks with legs first to catch opponent in scissorhold."
That may be exactly how she has to approach Gary.
Trying to control Gary's upper body would mean attacking his greatest strength.
Using her legs changes the mechanical equation.
Laura's lower body can generate substantially more force than her arms, and her 7 flexibility allows her to attack from positions Gary's 4 flexibility may make difficult to defend.
Gary may be able to bench press considerably more than Laura.
That doesn't necessarily help him if Laura gets behind him and establishes one of her preferred leg attacks before he can turn and use that strength.
Laura's strategy should therefore revolve around one fundamental principle:
Never fight Gary where Gary is strongest.
The Tournament Rules Give Laura a Critical Opportunity
This is where the mixed-match format becomes especially important.
Laura begins each round with Gary already placed in a designated scissorhold.
Against most opponents, that's an advantage.
Against Gary, it could be essential.
If every round began standing, Laura would have to somehow navigate Gary's 68-pound weight advantage and 9 upper-body strength just to establish her preferred attack.
Instead, the rules give her that position immediately.
Gary therefore begins each round with a problem to solve.
And Laura has substantially more experience solving wrestling problems than he does.
Her objective should be to capitalize immediately rather than allowing Gary to calmly escape and reset.
Gary's Biggest Surprise May Be Laura's Toughness
Gary may look across the mat and see a 5'4", 122-pound woman.
The database tells a different story.
Laura has an 8 pain-tolerance rating.
Gary's is only 5.
Laura's aggression is also 8 compared with Gary's 6.
This matters because Gary's physical advantage may create an expectation that Laura will become intimidated once he begins using his strength.
That would be a mistake.
A woman doesn't accumulate a 12–2 record and become club champion without learning how to continue fighting when things become uncomfortable.
Laura has been there before.
Gary hasn't.
Laura Needs to Make Gary Think
One of the most important battles won't involve strength at all.
Gary is described as patient, which is encouraging for a rookie. But his Psychological Warfare rating is only 3 compared with Laura's 7, and Laura also owns a slight Wrestling IQ advantage, 7–6.
Laura should exploit Gary's inexperience.
Change positions.
Show him one attack and transition into another.
Let Gary use strength to solve the first problem and immediately present him with a second.
A rookie's natural reaction when something goes wrong is often to use the physical tools he trusts most.
For Gary, that's strength.
Laura should make him use it repeatedly.
There's No Easy Stamina Escape for Laura
This is where Gary differs significantly from some of the other large men in the tournament.
Normally, the obvious strategy against a 190-pound powerhouse would be:
Survive early and exhaust him.
Gary's database makes that much less attractive.
His stamina is 7.
Laura's is 6.
So Laura cannot assume Gary's size will automatically become a liability in later rounds.
In fact, if the ratings hold true, Gary should maintain his physical output extremely well.
That puts even more pressure on Laura's technique.
She probably isn't going to wake up in Round 5 and discover that Gary has suddenly lost his strength.
She has to beat the strong version of Gary.
The Rookie's Biggest Danger: One Bad Decision
Gary's physical tools give him room for error.
But Laura is exactly the kind of opponent who can punish an inexperienced wrestler for making the wrong mistake.
Imagine Gary successfully powers out of one of Laura's attacks.
He realizes:
I'm much stronger than her.
That realization could create confidence.
Then overconfidence.
Gary starts attacking more aggressively. He reaches too far. His balance shifts forward.
Laura has seen that mistake before.
Suddenly the former champion isn't underneath a 190-pound powerhouse anymore. She's moving around him, attacking from an angle and bringing her legs into the fight before Gary can reset.
That's what experience does.
It turns a momentary mistake into an opportunity.
Against most rookies, Gary's athleticism might allow him to recover.
Against a former champion with 14 fights?
He may not get that opportunity.
What Happens If Gary Gets on Top?
This is the nightmare scenario for Laura.
Gary's Crucifix Pin is perfectly suited to the matchup.
If he can use his strength to isolate Laura's arms and bring his body weight into the position, Laura suddenly has to move a man who outweighs her by 68 pounds.
Her flexibility and technique can help.
But physics still matters.
Laura's first priority should therefore be preventing Gary from completely settling his weight.
Once the 190-pound rookie gets comfortable in a dominant top position, Laura's technical options become dramatically narrower.
Gary doesn't need to know 20 different wrestling holds.
If he can repeatedly create one position where his enormous strength advantage matters, that may be enough.
Experience vs. Potential
That's what makes this matchup so compelling.
We know what Laura is.
She's a 12–2 veteran.
A former champion.
A fighter with excellent leg strength, good quickness, solid technique and a history of finding ways to win.
Gary is something entirely different.
He's potential.
At 5'10", 190 pounds, with 9 strength, 7 quickness and 7 stamina, his athletic profile suggests that he could eventually become one of the most dangerous competitors in the entire club.
But Cutthroat isn't asking what Gary might become after ten matches.
It's asking what Gary is right now.
And right now he's a tremendously gifted athlete preparing for the first official wrestling match of his career.
Against a former champion.
What's at Stake
The winner advances to face either Carolina or David in the second round.
For Gary, a victory would immediately announce his arrival.
Going from 0–0 and unranked to eliminating a former championship-belt holder in his debut would make him one of the tournament's most interesting emerging threats.
For Laura, the challenge is entirely different.
She's spent years accumulating the knowledge Gary doesn't have.
She knows how to wrestle.
She knows how to win.
And she knows what it feels like to hold the championship belt that everyone in this tournament is chasing.
Now she has to prove that all of that experience is enough to overcome 68 pounds and perhaps the strongest upper body in the club.
Gary has the body to dominate this matchup.
Laura has the experience to dismantle it.
If Gary can keep the fight simple, his overwhelming physical advantages make him extremely dangerous. If Laura can make it complicated, the rookie may quickly discover why the smaller woman standing across from him was once the champion.
