Both are also step-siblings of Tatiana who organized this match to settle an ongoing argument that Maria and Jose were having concerning work being done on their farm. Being the older sibling by a few years, Maria feels that she is in charge of their chicken coup and that Jose should do the work that she tells him to.
Jose, on the other hand, feels that since he does more of the day to day manual work labor, that he should get to make the decisions on how the operations are run.
Tatiana, secretly feels that Maria is smarter and should make the long term decisions. So she set up this wrestling match knowing that her step-sister’s legs are incredibly strong as they are also gym partners, and that her step-brother Jose won’t be able to handle her headscissors.
The match is simple. Three four-minute rounds, but each round Jose has to begin in a headscissor or bodyscissor hold. Points are scored for submission, round domination, 10-second schoolgirl pin, and end of round scissorhold bonus if one fighter has the other trapped in a scissorhold when the clock is at zero.
In reality Maria could probably beat him without the headscissor start, but Tatiana wanted to make sure that Jose not only lost the match, but was put in his place so that he would listen to Maria going forward.
