We started with 16 wrestlers, and after three preliminary rounds which included 24 total matches, eight finalists have advanced to the single elimination playoff bracket. The 2025 Colombian Cup is a mixed wrestling tournament made up of four divisions – each division had three women and one man – where everyone fought everyone in their division. The top two finishers in each division by record and points advance to the elimination playoff bracket.
The three preliminary rounds of the first annual Colombian Cup Mixed Wrestling Tournament was full of shocking upsets and intense male vs female and female vs female wrestling competitions. Few would have predicted the exact eight people who have advanced, but the action is about to be taken up to another gear as the first elimination round begins. No second chances from this point forward.
Let’s take a look at the four matches of the first round of the playoffs:
Camila (3-0) vs Kevin (2-1)
No one was a bigger surprise in the tournament that the girl-next-door Camila (5’5″, 114 pounds) who came in as the least likely to make the playoffs and win the championship. The rookie wrestler had no fighting experience and very little athletic background. However, that didn’t stop this tough young woman, who practices yoga and Pilates to stay in shape, from getting three straight huge upsets to win the Division B championship and secure herself a spot in the playoffs.
Camila beat three veteran fighters (Claudia, David, Vanessa) who all had significant size advantages and wrestling experience over her. In all three fights Camila fought back after falling behind on the scoreboard. She used her stamina and quickness edge to keep the fights close and take a late lead to the shock of her opponents.
Then, she showed the entire league that her legs, while not muscular, have some serious squeezing power. In all three matches after Camila fought her way back to take the lead late in the fight, Camila wrapped up her opponents with her legs and let the clock tick down as her opponents grasped for air and tried to wonder how they let this small newcomer woman defeat them.
In the playoffs she will face off against another larger opponent in Kevin who will have more than a 100 pound size advantage. Camila will have a stamina, quickness, and flexibility edge, but the element of surprise that she had in her first three fights will likely not exist here as the secret is out that Camila is capable of pulling off big upsets.
Kevin started 2-0 taking care of Sweet Sara and Mishelle, though his poor stamina did show at times as both girls made massive comebacks and both came close to upsetting the 220 pound Kevin. In his third fight Kevin battled Sofia for the Division A championship. Sofia, also behind on the scoreboard at half time, came back and was able to defeat Kevin using her combination of speed and strength.
Camila does not have the same type of leg strength as Sofia, so she will have to rely more on her quickness to get behind Kevin and catch him with a rear naked choke. Despite her lack of muscle definition, it should be noted that Camila knocked out Kevin with a reverse headscissors in a recent squeeze challenge video, so she has demonstrated impressive squeeze power.
Author’s Prediction: The Cinderella story will final end for Camila. Kevin’s size advantage will be too much for the smaller Camila to overcome, and she doesn’t possess enough leg strength to overcome her lack of upper body strength.
Sofia (3-0) vs Juliana (2-1)
For true Kinksports fans this is a dream matchup between two veterans who will face off for the first time. Juliana, the number two female contender for the Championship Belt and the only fighter who has ever beaten current Belt Holder Tatiana, faces off against the beautiful yet vicious Sofia, who was only one of two fighters to go undefeated in the preliminary rounds.
Prior to this tournament Sofia actually had limited wrestling experience with her focus at the company being in the fantasy productions division. However, Sofia wanted to compete and she has shown that she is no joke. She completely dominated her division, sending Sara to the hospital, shutting out Mishelle, and humiliating Kevin with her combination of powerful thighs and acrobatic skills.
Meanwhile, Juliana struggled early on getting upset by Chica Python early in the tournament. However, she was able to crawl back into the playoffs by dominating Jose and then fighting tooth and nail with Marilyn, who she eventually defeated to secure her spot.
In addition to possessing powerful and well defined quadriceps that are capable of turning out the lights to anyone, Juliana is also one of the more skilled hand to hand grapplers at the club with a variety of choke holds in her arsenal. Juliana likely has a slight fighting skills advantage, however Sofia’s long legs and aggressive fighting style will even out that edge.
This should prove to be an intense fight between two warriors with different fighting styles.
Author’s prediction: Sofia’s attack first and ask questions later style of fighting will fail against the superior grappling skills of Juliana. I look for Sofia to take an early lead, but Juliana will be playing a game of chess while Sofia plays checkers. Juliana will eventually catch Sofia in a choke hold, something Sofia will be unfamiliar with. From there it will be tap or nap for the undefeated Sofia. Juliana, whose goal should still be to win this tournament and challenge Tatiana for the belt, finds herself in a great under the radar position.
Jessica (2-1) vs David (2-1)
The last time these two fought was Jessica’s debut match at the club where she stunned David with her leg squeezing power. The petite Jessica might be the strongest pound for pound fighter at the club. You would never think that this eloquent model, with no real muscle defintion on her body, has enough squeezing pressure to make men twice her size beg to let go.
David was humiliated by Jessica in that first match, so there will be a revenge factor in play here as he will look to put that loss behind him and take care of business.
Jessica leads the league in points scored in this tournament with large shut out wins against Mishelle and Antonio. Her only loss was a close fought battle to her good friend Yesenia. Meanwhile, David fought well against the long legs of Claudia and Vanesa, handing both of them losses. However, his upset loss to Camila might have caused him some psychological damage that he will need to overcome fast if he is to make a run at the championship.
This should be classic size vs quickness match up, however sometimes Jessica fights like she has the size advantage even when she is battling men twice her size.
Author’s prediction: David’s size will be too much for Jessica. He will find a way to control her agility and stay away from her dangerous headscissors to get the win.
Yesenia (2-1) vs Marilyn (2-1)
Another great female vs female fight between two women facing off for the first time. Three time tournament champion and the number one contender Yesenia came in as the favorite to win another tournament. Her 5’11” height doesn’t even do her long legs justice. Those long legs combined with her muscular thighs have made her one of the most dangerous fighters at the club from the beginning. She came in with a 20-1 overall record with her only loss being to current Championship Belt Holder Tatiana.
However, Yesenia suffered one of the biggest upset losses in Kinksports history as she fell to the petite Mishelle, handing Yesenia only her second ever loss. Yesenia has been very angry since that loss. She rebounded nicely handing Jessica her first tournament loss, but now she is out to dominate the playoffs and take home another championship.
Standing in her way will be relatively newcomer Marilyn and her Cross Fit background. Marilyn’s thick thighs and butt give her great balance and control out on the wrestling mats. She has great lower and upper body strength and incredible quickness for her size.
Author’s prediction: Though betting against Yesenia is never a good idea, Marilyn’s short and stocky body presents a bad match up for the long Yesenia. For perhaps the first time Yesenia’s legs will not be the strongest on the mats. Marilyn gets the win and is my pick to win the entire tournament.
